Thanks for your comment, as well--no comment is too long or too short.

Thinking of you today, truth be told.

Love,

kcKeith "Nurse Keith" Carlson, RN, BSN, NC-BChttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03581947410641941224noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10246967.post-1123802572684445932005-08-11T19:22:00.000-04:002005-08-11T19:22:00.000-04:00I just read your commentary and am satisfied by an...I just read your commentary and am satisfied by an understanding of so many levels of humanity, so many layers. It is great your tolerance and facing those situations that seem to be going nowhere, but perhaps downhill. It seems like you have naturally or by cultivation a true kind of equanimity.
what you say about "learned helplessness" is brilliant! someone called me today in a desperate frame of mind, with this intense conviction that I can help her with a problem she has. I know that calling her will mean a very long time on the phone engaged in circular reasoning. We have talked about this issue before. Strangely i came to the conclusion not to call her because I have no conviction about helping her, in fact, I believe that I will help her a lot more if I do not call her in response to this emotional desperation. It sounds harsh, but it feels more truthful to me than repeating this pattern again and again. I can always think very positive thoughts towards her and turn her belief in me back to her, for she has the answer. I know this is a long comment, but I think that your writing helped me relax about my decision.
Thank you for remembering the Seasons, they are so much a part of our lives! Already,...I'm with you on the autumn thing, buddy. Already, we're experiencing the chillier mornings and great sleeping weather here in the Rockies. And what's even greater is that so far this season, I have had to wear a long-sleeved shirt in the early mornings when walking the pups becuz of the chill in the air. Not to worry: it's more from internal conditions rather than ambient ones. I'll soon lay some mattresses beside the patio doors and get some breezes.
