I am honored to have been asked to periodically serve as a guest blogger on the newest version of "The Canary Report", a website devoted to the subject of Multiple Chemical Sensitivity.
The new site is excellent, and will serve as a clearinghouse for information, news, research, and support for those living with the condition, those who care about them, and those who want to know more about how chemicals, fragrances and toxins poison our bodies and our environment.
Equally exciting is the birth of "The Flock", a social networking site for people with MCS and their supporters. I will also be actively involved in this growing community, and encourage those with and without MCS to join.
MCS has impacted the lives of thousands of people, and as much as our (many) detractors and naysayers want to convince us that the condition is purely psychosomatic, research will eventually bear out that chemicals and toxins in our environment do indeed alter our body chemistry and adversely affect us on many levels.
Living with MCS is exceedingly inconvenient, maddening, and isolating, and the presence of The Canary Report and The Flock will do a great deal to decrease that isolation, fostering community and support in a world that can frequently offer precious little of both. Please support the project, stop by for a visit, and thank our hostess Susie for her passionate advocacy on behalf of so many of us living with MCS.
