Laughter Yoga

We are off to Niagara Falls for a two-day training/conference on Laughter Yoga, founded by Dr. Madan Kataria and Madhuri Kataria of Mumbai, India. Known as a "global movement for health, joy, and world peace", Laughter Yoga uses yogic breathing (pranayama) and other simple but effective methods to assist practitioners in eliciting spontaneous and healing laughter, thus benefiting from the well-documented physiological and psychological benefits of laughter. Popularized by Norman Cousins with his book Anatomy of an Illness, Mr. Cousins demonstrated the healing power of laughter, leading to numerous studies of the beneficial effects of laughter as a form of medicine and healing.
